Choosing the right Boyueda electric scooter – a guide to G, Q, S and M
Boyueda's models share a lot of technology but differ considerably in weight, battery and power. Here we go through the series, what the numbers mean in practice and what the rules say in Europe, so you can find the right Boyueda electric scooter for how you actually ride.
Boyueda electric scooters in several series: G, Q, S and M
The G series is made up of standing models without a saddle. The G2 is the entry model with a 1,600 W motor, a 52 V 19 Ah battery, 70 km of claimed range and 31.0 kg. The G6 stays at 32.7 kg but gets dual 2 × 1,600 W motors (max 2 × 1,800 W), a 52 V 28 Ah battery and 120 km of claimed range. The Q series is the saddle models on 10-inch wheels: the Q7 Pro is the lightest of all at 30.2 kg with 2 × 1,600 W and 70 km, while the Q7 Pro Max has a bigger 28 Ah battery, 90 km of claimed range and an app. Tyre pressure, speed and charging habits all matter – see our guide on how to increase your range.
The S series is built for terrain: the S3-11 and S5-11 have 2 × 3,000 W, a 60 V 38 Ah battery, 11-inch off-road tyres, an IP56 rating and 120 km of claimed range. The S5-11 is the better-equipped of the two with an app, NFC and a 25 km/h limiter. At the top sits the M2 with 2 × 5,000 W, a 72 V 40 Ah battery, 12-inch wheels, a 95 km/h top speed and 55.0 kg.
Range and battery – from 70 to 120 km
The manufacturer quotes 70 km for the G2 and Q7 Pro, 90 km for the Q7 Pro Max and 120 km for the G6, S3-11, S5-11 and M2. Real-world range on a Boyueda electric scooter is roughly 60–75 % of the claimed figure – around 45–50 km for the 70-kilometre models and 75–90 km for the 120-kilometre models – depending on your weight, speed, temperature and hills.
The battery explains the differences: the G2 has about 990 Wh, the Q7 Pro 1,140 Wh, the Q7 Pro Max and G6 about 1,460 Wh, the S models 2,280 Wh and the M2 a full 2,880 Wh. The Q7 Pro, Q7 Pro Max, S3-11, S5-11 and M2 have dual charging ports and two chargers, which gives 4–5 hours of charging time on the Q models. The G2 charges in 5–6 hours and the G6 in 8–9 hours. No battery is removable, so think about where you can charge.
Motor, hills and weight on a Boyueda electric scooter
Only the G2 has a single motor; the others have dual motors and handle steep hills. The G2 and Q7 Pro are rated for 35° climbs, the G6 for 40° and the Q7 Pro Max, S3-11, S5-11 and M2 for 45°. Top speed goes from 50 km/h on the G2 via 70 km/h on the Q models and G6 to 85 km/h on the S series and 95 km/h on the M2. All have three riding modes and cruise control.
Weight is what you notice most day to day. The Q7 Pro (30.2 kg), G2 (31.0 kg), G6 (32.7 kg) and Q7 Pro Max (33.6 kg) can be lifted into a car. The S3-11 (43.3 kg) and S5-11 (45.0 kg) are considerably heavier, and the M2 at 55.0 kg is one you roll rather than carry. All of them fold. The G2 and G6 are intended for riders up to 150 kg, the others up to 200 kg.
Comfort: tyres, suspension, brakes and saddle
Every Boyueda electric scooter has front and rear suspension and two hydraulic disc brakes with E-ABS, which gives confident braking even from higher speeds. The G and Q series roll on 10-inch pneumatic tyres, the S series on 11-inch off-road tyres and the M2 on 12-inch pneumatic tyres, with an extra set of terrain tyres in the box. The Q7 Pro, Q7 Pro Max, S3-11, S5-11 and M2 come with a saddle, which makes long sessions more comfortable – feel free to compare with other electric scooters with a saddle. All have indicators, a horn and ambient light. The IP rating is IP54 on the G2, G6 and M2, IPX5 on the Q models and IP56 on the S series. Rules in Europe for a Boyueda electric scooter
To be ridden as a bicycle in most EU countries, an e-scooter has to be limited to 20–25 km/h and usually no more than 250 W rated motor output. No Boyueda model meets that – even the G2 has 1,600 W and 50 km/h, and the others sit at 3,200–10,000 W and 70–95 km/h. All of them are therefore formally treated as mopeds or motor vehicles: on public roads they need national registration, insurance and the licence your country requires, otherwise they belong on enclosed private land or a track.
The G2, G6, S5-11 and M2 ship in a mode with a 25 km/h limiter, but the limiter does not change the classification – it is the design speed and motor output that count, not the setting.
