How to choose the right KEPOW electric scooter
E12, K2max or K2master – the models at a glance
The KEPOW E12 is the lightest model, with a 500 W brushless motor, a 48 V 10.4 Ah battery and a stated range of 30–35 km. The K2max steps up to 1,000 W and 48 V 20 Ah, with a stated range of 60–70 km. The K2master has the same battery capacity but two motors of 1,000 W each, giving more traction on hills and when pulling away. All figures are the manufacturer’s.
Single or dual motor on a KEPOW electric scooter?
One motor is plenty for flat routes and lighter riders. Dual motors drive both wheels for better grip and acceleration, especially uphill and on loose surfaces. Bear in mind that two motors draw more power, so range depends more on how hard you ride. You can compare other models among our dual motor electric scooters.
Battery and range
KEPOW uses 48 V batteries with 21700 cells. Multiplying voltage by amp hours gives a rough energy figure: around 500 Wh for the E12 and around 960 Wh for the K2max and K2master. Stated range applies in favourable conditions – rider weight, speed, hills and cold weather all shorten it. Charging takes 4–5 hours for the E12 and 5–7 hours for the larger batteries.
Tyres, suspension and brakes
All models have 10-inch wheels, front and rear suspension and disc brakes on both wheels. The E12 runs on pneumatic tyres for city riding, while the K2max and K2master use tubeless road tyres that are easier to repair after a puncture. The K2master also comes with an LED headlight, brake light and cruise control as standard.
Maximum load and who KEPOW suits
The E12 and K2max are built for riders up to 120 kg, the K2master for up to 150 kg. Climbing ability is stated as 15 degrees. If you are heavier or ride lots of hills, the K2master gives you the most headroom, while the E12 is the simpler choice for shorter trips. If you need a more terrain-focused model, take a look at our off-road electric scooters.
Where can you ride a KEPOW electric scooter?
In most EU countries, e-scooters may only be used on public roads and cycle lanes if they are limited to 20–25 km/h, and national rules on power, age, helmets and insurance vary. All KEPOW models exceed these limits and are therefore intended for private or enclosed land. Read more on Your Europe.
App, care and warranty
The Tuya app shows the battery level and lets you change settings such as speed modes. Check tyre pressure, brakes and bolts regularly, and charge the battery with the supplied charger. Your KEPOW comes with a 2-year warranty (in addition to your statutory rights), and if you have questions about parts or settings, our customer service team is happy to help – just give the exact model.
