The range is small but logically built. Here we go through what separates the models, how to read range and motor output, what applies on European roads and how to keep your e-scooter rolling for many years.
Models of DriveTron electric scooter
The DriveTron DT01 is the entry model and the lightest at 16.8 kg. It has a 36V 13Ah battery of 468 Wh, a 400 W rated motor with 756 W peak output, 40 km of claimed range, a 27 km/h top speed and front suspension. The DriveTron DT08 (48V 13Ah) is the middle step: a 624 Wh battery, a 500 W rated motor with 1100 W peak, 50 km of claimed range, 40 km/h and suspension both front and rear at 22 kg. The DriveTron DT10 is the flagship with 48V 15.6Ah at 749 Wh, 1000 W rated and 1400 W peak output, 55 km of claimed range, a 50 km/h top speed, two hydraulic disc brakes, indicators, an electric horn, an NFC lock and ambient light, all at 25 kg. All models share the same practical foundation: a folding frame, 10-inch pneumatic tyres, IPX5, cruise control, three riding modes, front and rear lights, a bag hook, an integrated combination lock and a tool kit in the box. Range and battery – how far you get in reality
The manufacturer quotes 40 km for the DT01, 50 km for the DT08 and 55 km for the DT10. The figures apply under ideal conditions: a light rider, flat road, mild temperature and the lowest riding mode. In practice, expect 60–75 percent of the claimed range, i.e. around 25–30 km for the DT01, 30–38 km for the DT08 and 33–41 km for the DT10.
Battery size explains the difference: 468 Wh in the DT01, 624 Wh in the DT08 and 749 Wh in the DT10. Charging time is 5–7 hours for the DT01, 4–6 hours for the DT08 and 7–10 hours for the DT10. The battery is built into all models, so you need a socket where the scooter is parked. Motor, hills and weight – choose a DriveTron electric scooter for your route
Motor power determines how the scooter copes with hills. The DT01 with 400 W rated output manages a 15-degree climb according to the manufacturer, the DT08 with 500 W is quoted at 30 degrees and the DT10 with 1000 W at 25 degrees, but the DT10 accelerates considerably more briskly thanks to 1400 W peak output. If you live somewhere hilly or weigh close to the recommended 120 kg maximum, the DT08 or DT10 is the safe choice.
Weight is the other side of the coin. The DT01 at 16.8 kg can be carried up a staircase without much trouble, the DT08 at 22 kg is still manageable and the DT10 at 25 kg is best if it mostly rolls and is rarely lifted.
Comfort – tyres, suspension and brakes
Every DriveTron model rolls on 10-inch pneumatic tyres that absorb joints and cobbles better than small solid tyres. The rear tyre is puncture-proof while the front is a standard pneumatic tyre you keep at the right pressure. The DT01 has front suspension, while the DT08 and DT10 have suspension both front and rear, which you clearly notice on poor tarmac and gravel. The speed limiter caps top speed at 25 km/h if you want to ride more calmly, and an instruction video shows how to set it.
The brakes follow the price level: the DT01 and DT08 have electronic E-ABS combined with a disc brake, while the DT10 has two hydraulic disc brakes plus E-ABS, which gives more confident braking from higher speeds. The DT10 is also the only one with indicators, an electric horn and ambient light, three details that make dark evening rides safer. None of the models has a saddle or an app.
Rules in Europe for a DriveTron electric scooter
In most EU countries an e-scooter counts as a bicycle only if it is limited to 20–25 km/h and has no more than about 250 W of rated motor output. You may then use the cycle path with one rider at a time, while helmet and minimum-age rules vary between countries. All DriveTron models exceed the limit: the DT01 has 400 W and 27 km/h, the DT08 500 W and 40 km/h and the DT10 1000 W and 50 km/h. They are therefore formally treated as mopeds in most countries, and that also applies when the speed limiter is set to 25 km/h, since motor output still exceeds 250 W. Without national registration and insurance, such a vehicle may only be ridden on enclosed private land.
