How to choose smart electric scooter accessories for your model
First measure the tube where the accessory will sit: the umbrella holder takes stems up to 2.5 cm, the camera mount 16–40 mm, the USB outlet 22–31.8 mm and the electric assist kit seatposts of 25.4–31.6 mm. For electronics that sit outside all year round, the IP rating matters – IP67 on the remote control and IP65 on the USB outlet cope with rain, the speaker's IPX4 only with splashes. Fitting and use
Most products fit without tools: the speaker holder, heated grips and electric assist kit with Velcro or a quick mount, the clocks with self-adhesive tape, the umbrella holder and camera mount with a screw clamp. The USB outlet connects to the scooter's electrical system with a 168 cm cable that must not get pinched in the folding mechanism – if in doubt, let a workshop do the job. The remote control pairs via Bluetooth and runs on an included CR2032 battery. The wheel stand folds out when the scooter is folded so you can roll it like a suitcase.
Rules and safety in the EU
An electric scooter in the bicycle class – max 250 W and 20–25 km/h depending on the country – is a vehicle for one person throughout the EU. Footrests, armrests and kids' handlebars must therefore not be used for passengers on the electric scooter; they belong on an e-bike or moped with a rear seat or child seat, where the child sits strapped in. Speakers are allowed, but keep the volume low and avoid headphones so you can hear the traffic. The electric assist kit delivers 200 W and assistance up to 25 km/h, within the pedelec limit as long as the assistance only comes when you pedal – check this before riding on public roads, otherwise the bike counts as a moped. Caring for smart electric scooter accessories
Wipe electronics after rain and keep the USB outlet's lid closed when not in use. Charge the speaker and check the remote control's coin cell before the season, and store the heated grips somewhere dry over the summer. Retighten clamps and Velcro mounts regularly, since vibrations loosen them. Bar mitts, shoulder strap and chest harness are hand-washed and air-dried.
