Choosing the right Kaabo electric scooter – a guide to the models

Urban, Mantis and Wolf – three families of Kaabo electric scooters
The Kaabo Urban is the entry model: a 500 W motor (1,092 W peak), a 48 V 10.4 Ah battery, up to 40 km of range and just 20 kg. With 8.5-inch pneumatic tyres, an IPX6 rating and NFC unlocking it is built for the pace of the city, and it is also available as a DGT version with the same specifications. The Mantis family gathers the 8- and 10-inch models: the Mantis 10 Eco with a single 500 or 800 W motor (50 or 70 km) weighs 22–24 kg, while the Mantis 8 Plus and Mantis 8 Pro+ have dual 800 W motors, 50 km/h and 60 or 80 km of range in a package under 28 kg. The Mantis 10 Plus (2 × 1,000 W, 90 km) and the Mantis King GT (2 × 1,100 W, 110 km, off-road tyres) are the most powerful in the family.
Wolf is the big format with 60–72 V systems and 10–12-inch off-road tyres. The Wolf Warrior X Max (also as DGT) delivers 2 × 1,100 W, 70 km/h and 90 km at 35–38 kg. The Wolf Warrior 11 Max steps up to 2 × 1,500 W, 80 km/h and 150 km, and the top is formed by the Wolf King GTR and Wolf King GTR Max with 2 × 2,000 W, 105 km/h and 180 or 200 km of claimed range respectively.
Range and battery – from 499 to 2,880 Wh
The batteries span from the Urban's 48 V 10.4 Ah (499 Wh) to the Wolf King GTR Max with 72 V 40 Ah (2,880 Wh). The manufacturer's range is quoted under favourable conditions; expect 60–75 percent in real everyday riding with cold weather, headwind and full throttle. A Mantis 10 Eco rated at 70 km therefore realistically gives 40–50 km, and a Wolf Warrior 11 Max rated at 150 km lands around 90–110 km. Several of the models – the whole Wolf family plus the Mantis King GT – have dual charging ports so you can charge with two chargers at once, and the Wolf King GTR also has a removable battery. Motor, hills and weight on a Kaabo electric scooter
Most of the models have dual motors, which gives better grip on hills and loose surfaces. Climbing ability goes from 20 degrees on the Urban via 30–40 degrees on the Mantis to 45–50 degrees on the Wolf Warrior 11 Max, Wolf King GTR and GTR Max. The power comes at a cost in weight, though: the Urban and Mantis 10 Eco weigh 20–24 kg and can be carried up stairs, the Mantis 8 and Mantis 10 sit at 27–33 kg, while the Wolf models weigh 35–67 kg. The heaviest – Wolf Warrior 11 Max, Wolf King GTR and GTR Max at 52–67 kg – call for ground-floor or garage storage.
Comfort and brakes – suspension, tyres and E-ABS
Every Kaabo electric scooter has both front and rear suspension, which makes a big difference on cobblestones and gravel. The tyres are pneumatic on all models: 8–10 inches on the Urban and Mantis for agility in town, chunky 10–12-inch off-road tyres on the Wolf family and Mantis King GT for terrain and rougher roads. The Urban has two mechanical disc brakes, the Mantis 10 Plus semi-hydraulic ones and the other models fully hydraulic disc brakes, all backed by electronic E-ABS. Indicators are standard, most models have ambient light and several unlock with an NFC card. No Kaabo model has a saddle or an app, and all of them are IPX5 or IPX6 rated against rain. Rules in Europe for a Kaabo electric scooter
In most EU countries an e-scooter can only be ridden as a bicycle if it is limited to 20–25 km/h and, usually, no more than 250 W rated motor output. No Kaabo model meets that requirement – the least powerful, the Urban, has 500 W rated output and every model exceeds 20 km/h. All of them are therefore formally treated as mopeds or motor vehicles in most countries: on public roads they need national registration, insurance and the licence your country requires, otherwise they belong on enclosed private land. Several models ship with a 25 km/h speed limiter, among them the Urban, Mantis 10 Eco, Wolf Warrior X Max and Wolf Warrior 11 Max, but the limiter does not change the classification because the motor output is still above 250 W. The DGT versions of the Urban and Wolf Warrior X Max are Spanish homologations for the Spanish market, not approvals for other countries.
