Duotts electric bike – models across the C29, F, S, N and E series at Wheelyshop

Duotts builds electric bikes for riders who want more power, a bigger battery and a sturdier frame than an ordinary city bike offers. At Wheelyshop you will find several Duotts models: the commuter and touring bikes of the C29 series with 27.5- and 29-inch wheels, fat bikes with wide 20- or 26-inch tyres (F20, F26, F26 Lite, S26, N26 and E26) and the full-suspension electric mountain bike E29. Range spans 65 to 170 km, weight 25.3 to 42 kg and rated motor output 250 to 750 W – some models qualify as pedelecs under EU rules, while the rest formally fall into the moped class and are best suited to private land. Every electric vehicle ships with free delivery, a 2-year warranty and access to spare parts.

Choosing the right Duotts electric bike – a guide to the models

Start with three questions: where will you ride, how far, and do you want a model you can legally ride in the cycle lane. Below we walk through the series, the technology and the European rules.

Series and models: C29, fat bikes and dual motors

The C29 series is Duotts' commuter line with large wheels, a rear rack and mudguards. The C29 Lite is the entry model with a 250 W motor, 36 V 13 Ah battery, 65 km of range and 7 gears. The C29 Max steps up to 48 V 18 Ah, 120 km of range, a torque sensor and hydraulic disc brakes, still with a 250 W rated motor. The C29-K is the long-distance bike with dual batteries totalling 1,800 Wh and 170 km of range, while the C29-M and C29-L are the lightest in the line-up (25.3 and 25.5 kg respectively) with a 750 W motor, 21 gears and 90–100 km of range. Getting more kilometres out of every charge is covered in our guide on how to increase e-scooter and e-bike range.

The fat bike series consists of the F26 Lite (500 W, 48 V 18 Ah, 90 km), the F20 with 20-inch wheels, 52 V 27 Ah and 140 km, the full-suspension E26 with 80 Nm of torque, and the dual-motor models N26, S26 and F26 with 2 × 750 W and up to 1,500 W peak output. The E29 is a category of its own: a full-suspension electric mountain bike with a 250 W Bafang motor, torque sensor and 14 gears. You can browse the whole range under electric bikes.

Range and battery on a Duotts electric bike

Batteries run from 468 Wh in the C29 Lite to 1,800 Wh in the C29-K, and all models have a removable battery so you can charge indoors. Charging takes 6–10 hours depending on the model. The stated ranges (65–170 km) apply at the lowest assistance level on flat roads; expect 60–75 % of that figure in real-world riding with mixed assistance, hills, headwind and cold. A C29 Max rated at 120 km therefore typically delivers 75–90 km in everyday use.

If you need maximum range, the C29-K, F20 (140 km), N26 and S26 (150 km) are the obvious picks – you will find more big-battery models under long-range electric bikes.

Motor, torque and weight

Duotts electric bikes split into two motor classes. The C29 Lite, C29 Max and E29 have a 250 W rated motor, and the C29 Max and E29 pair it with a torque sensor that meters the power according to how hard you pedal. The other models have 500–750 W, and the N26, S26 and F26 run two motors with a combined 1,500 W peak output. Torque ranges from 43 Nm in the C29 Lite to 80 Nm in the E26 and 2 × 65 Nm in the dual-motor models, and every model is rated for 30-degree climbs.

Weight follows battery and tyres: the commuter bikes C29-M and C29-L weigh just over 25 kg, the C29 Max 29.25 kg, while the fat bikes with large batteries land at 35–42 kg. Maximum load is 150 kg on most models, 180 kg on the N26 and 200 kg on the S26.

Frame, comfort and brakes

No Duotts electric bike folds and none has a step-through frame; recommended rider height is 160–200 cm depending on the model. Full suspension comes on the E29, E26, F20, N26 and S26, while the rest have a suspension fork up front. The fat bike models roll on wide 26-inch (F20: 20-inch) tyres that soak up gravel, roots and snow – see more under fat bikes. Most models have hydraulic disc brakes; the C29 Lite and F26 have mechanical disc brakes. Most models have 7 gears, the E26 has 8, the E29 14 and the C29-M and C29-L 21. A rear rack is included on the C29 series, F26 Lite, S26 and F26, and every model has an IPX4 or IPX5 rating, a display or app and a front light.

Rules in Europe for a Duotts electric bike

Across the EU an e-bike counts as a bicycle (pedelec or EPAC) when the motor has a rated output of no more than 250 W, only assists while you pedal up to 25 km/h and any throttle does not drive faster than 6 km/h. Then you can use the cycle lane without registration or insurance, and helmet rules for cyclists apply. In the Duotts line-up the E29, C29 Max and C29 Lite meet that definition. The C29-M, C29-L, C29-K, F26 Lite, E26, F20, N26, S26 and F26 have 500–750 W rated motors and are therefore formally treated as speed pedelecs or mopeds – this also applies to the C29-K, which is limited to 25 km/h, and to the models with a 25 km/h speed limiter, since a limiter does not change the motor's rated output. The moped class typically means registration, insurance, a helmet and a driving licence, with the exact requirements varying by country; without them, these models belong on enclosed private land. The EU road rules and safety overview is a good starting point for your country, and always ride with a helmet whichever model you choose. Read more in our guide to e-bike laws in Europe.

Frequently asked questions

Is a Duotts electric bike legal in Europe?

Some models count as bicycles under the EU pedelec rules: the E29, C29 Max and C29 Lite have a 250 W rated motor and assistance up to 25 km/h, so they can be ridden in the cycle lane without registration. The other models (C29-M, C29-L, C29-K, F26 Lite, E26, F20, N26, S26 and F26) have 500–750 W motors and are formally moped class, which on public roads typically means registration, insurance, a helmet and a driving licence depending on the country – otherwise they are for enclosed private land.

How far does a Duotts electric bike go on a charge?

Stated range runs from 65 km (C29 Lite) to 170 km (C29-K with dual batteries totalling 1,800 Wh). The figures apply at the lowest assistance level on flat roads, so expect 60–75 % in real-world riding with hills, cold weather and higher assistance. Every model has a removable battery and charges fully in 6–10 hours.

Which Duotts electric bike is best for commuting?

For daily commuting in the cycle lane the C29 Max is the strongest choice: a 250 W motor with torque sensor, 120 km of stated range, hydraulic disc brakes, a rear rack and mudguards. If you want to keep the cost down, the C29 Lite is a simpler option with 65 km of range. If you ride longer distances on private land and want more power, the C29-K with 170 km of range is worth a look, but it is moped class.

Do Duotts bikes have fat tyres and suspension?

Yes, several models are fat bikes with wide 26-inch tyres (F26, F26 Lite, S26, N26, E26) or 20-inch tyres (F20). Full suspension comes on the E29, E26, F20, N26 and S26, while the other models have a suspension fork up front. No Duotts model folds.

Are spare parts available for a Duotts electric bike?

Yes, Wheelyshop supplies spare and wear parts such as chargers, brake pads, tyres, inner tubes and displays for the Duotts models through the spare parts portal. Every electric bike also comes with a 2-year warranty, and customer service will help you find the right part for your exact model.
