E-bike basket – choose the right mount, position and size
A bike basket makes room for shopping and everyday luggage. Explore front and rear baskets, racks supplied with a basket, removable fabric baskets and dedicated pet carriers. Some designs also suit electric scooters. Start with the mounting points on your vehicle, then choose for what you want to carry.

E-bike basket compatibility starts with the mount
Check whether the basket attaches to the handlebar, stem, frame or rack. These mounting systems are not interchangeable. Measure the relevant diameter or mounting spacing and check which adapters are included. Allow clearance for the display, brake cables, battery and folding mechanism. Universal and quick release do not confirm compatibility. If dimensions are missing, send your model and photos to customer service.
Front or rear basket for an e-bike
A handlebar-mounted basket turns with the steering; a frame-mounted front basket uses a different attachment. A rear basket needs a compatible luggage rack. Some kits include both rack and basket, so check the actual contents. On an electric scooter, the stem, cables and folding mechanism must also remain usable with the basket fitted. Space alone does not prove that a bike basket is suitable.
Basket size and maximum load
Measure what you want to carry and compare it with the usable internal dimensions. External measurements may not describe the space at the base or below a lid. Follow the lowest load limit across the installation and include the basket’s own weight wherever the rack or vehicle instructions require it. A high basket rating does not increase the vehicle’s load limit. Confirm missing load figures before carrying heavier items.
Lidded, removable and children’s bike baskets
A removable basket with handles can come into the shop with you. Fabric sides, a liner and a folding structure offer different storage options. Check how the base is supported and how the basket locks onto its mount. A lid does not automatically provide rain protection or theft protection. A children’s bike basket is a small basket for a child’s bike, not a child passenger seat.
Dog baskets and bicycle pet carriers
Choose a product explicitly intended for carrying animals on a bicycle. Compare your pet’s weight and body measurements with the manufacturer’s limits and the internal space. Check the base, ventilation, closure and any retaining strap according to the instructions. An ordinary shopping basket is not a pet carrier simply because an animal fits inside. Some carriers also work as backpacks; check the fittings and instructions for each use.
Fit the basket and try it with a load
Follow the installation instructions and inspect the fittings regularly. Keep steering, brakes, wheels, lights and reflectors clear. Distribute the load and secure loose objects so they cannot fall towards a wheel. Try the loaded bike carefully in a quiet place because luggage affects balance.
