Bike trailers and transport trolleys for everyday carrying
A bike trailer carries children, a dog or luggage behind a bicycle. A freestanding wagon or trolley is pulled or pushed by hand for camping, shopping or moving goods. This range includes both, as well as electric stair-climbing trolleys. Start with what you need to carry and how you will move it, then compare space, load limits and mounting.

How to choose a bike trailer or transport trolley
Choose the right type
A bike trailer uses a purpose-designed towbar and hitch. Choose a child, pet or cargo model according to what it is intended to carry. Some also work as hand-pulled or pushed trolleys. A four-wheel camping wagon is not automatically towable by bicycle. An electric stair-climbing trolley assists with moving goods on stairs within its stated limits; it is not a ride-on vehicle. For regular cycle deliveries, compare an electric cargo bike too.
Children, dogs and cargo
For a child, the manufacturer must explicitly specify child transport. Check seats, harnesses, cabin space and age or height requirements for cycling and stroller modes separately. A dog trailer or open cargo wagon is not a substitute. For dogs, compare body length, shoulder height and weight with the internal dimensions and capacity; also check ventilation, entry height and the internal restraint. Cargo needs suitable loading space, access and securing points.
Read load limits correctly
Payload is what you load; gross weight includes the trailer or trolley itself. Include occupants or goods, bags and equipment. Follow the lowest applicable limit for the trailer, hitch and bicycle. A high load rating does not authorise child transport. For stair-climbing trolleys, check permitted stair dimensions, load placement and securing instructions. Ask for confirmation if a necessary limit is missing.
Check bicycle and e-bike compatibility
Confirm that the bicycle manufacturer permits towing and that the hitch fits its exact rear axle or seatpost. A thru-axle, rear hub motor or rack may affect installation or require a model-specific adapter. A hitch described as universal does not necessarily fit every bicycle. Check included parts, follow the installation instructions and practise in a quiet area. Observe the model's speed limit and local road rules, allowing more room for braking and turning.
Folding, storage and care
Compare folded size and empty weight for lifting or car transport. Check removable wheels and the parts required for stroller mode. Stroller use does not automatically permit jogging. Before use, check the hitch, locking pins, wheels and any brake. Follow the stated tyre pressure, dry fabrics before storage and follow the battery instructions on powered trolleys. Can every trolley here be attached to a bicycle?
No. Bike trailers have a purpose-designed towbar and hitch. Freestanding camping wagons and transport trolleys are moved by hand or their own powered assistance. Do not attach them to a bicycle unless their manufacturer explicitly allows it.
Will a bike trailer fit my e-bike?
Check the bicycle's permitted use, exact axle or seatpost and the trailer hitch. An adapter may be required. Electric assistance alone does not mean a bicycle is suitable for towing.
Can a child ride in a dog trailer or cargo wagon?
Choose a model explicitly intended by its manufacturer for children, with suitable seats, restraints and use limits. A dog trailer or cargo wagon does not become suitable for children simply because its weight limit is sufficient.
Is payload the same as gross weight?
No. Payload normally describes the contents, while gross weight also includes the trailer or trolley. Check the manufacturer's definition and include all luggage and equipment.
What do 2-in-1 and folding mean?
2-in-1 may mean cycling and stroller modes; check which conversion parts are included. Folding describes storage or transport. Neither term by itself means the product is suitable for jogging.
