Guide: finding the right electric scooter mudguard

The mudguard is a wear part. The rear guard takes feet, bags and knocks when the scooter is folded, and on many models the latch hook and the tail light cable sit there too. This guide covers which parts exist, how to choose between a single guard and a kit, and when a new support is enough. Other parts for the same vehicle are in the spare parts portal. In the rain it is the mudguard that keeps the spray off – how to ride and look after your scooter in wet weather is covered in our guide to riding an electric scooter in the rain.

Which mudguard fits your electric scooter?

Start from the full model name, including generation and suffixes such as Pro, Max, Lite or Ultra. You will find it in the manual and on the rating plate. When a part fits several models they are all listed in the title, for example Ninebot F20/F25/F30/F40, KuKirin G3/G4 or INOKIM OX/OXO. If your model is not listed, assume the part does not fit. Also compare screw holes and mounting points in the product images with your old guard.

Rear electric scooter mudguard – single guard or kit?

The rear mudguard is the most common part in this category. For many models there are two options: the guard alone or a mudguard kit. That applies to several Xiaomi generations, Ninebot G30, G2, the F series, Max G3, ZT3 and GT1/GT2, the KuKirin G2 series, HX X7/X8 and InMotion RS and S1/L9. A kit contains more parts than the guard – exactly which is stated on the product page. If only the plastic is cracked, the single guard is often enough; if several parts are damaged or missing, the kit is the simpler choice.

Front electric scooter mudguard

The front guard is better protected but cracks against kerbs and in falls. Front mudguards are available for Xiaomi (including 3 Lite, 4/4 Pro, 4 Lite 2nd Gen, 5 Plus and Elite), Ninebot (G30, G2, Max G3, ZT3, ES, E2 Pro, E22/E25/E45 and the F series), KuKirin (G2 Pro, G2 Max, G2 Master, G3 Pro and G4 Max), HX X7/X8, iScooter iX3, VSETT 11+ and NAMI. For the TEVERUN Fighter Eleven/Eleven+ there is one guard used both front and rear.

Rear mudguard supports and brackets – when the guard rattles

A rear guard that vibrates or hits the tyre is not necessarily broken – often it is the support or the bracket that has given up. Rear mudguard supports are available for several Xiaomi models (also in metal), for Ninebot G30 and ZT3/ZT3 Pro, and brackets for KuKirin G2 Pro, Ninebot ES and Xiaomi 4 Ultra. A support takes load off the guard and keeps it in place above the tyre. Check the screws at the same time – if they are loose, no new guard will help.

Latch hooks, splash guards and special mudguards

On Xiaomi and Ninebot G30 the latch hook that holds the stem when folded sits on the rear guard. The hook is sold as a separate part, and for Xiaomi so is its rubber cover. You will also find splash guards for Xiaomi and Ninebot plus a few model-specific solutions: a rear guard with number plate holder for TEVERUN Blade GT/Fighter 11, a rear guard with fork for Ninebot ES, a guard for the shock absorber on KuKirin G2 Master and a mudguard for InMotion V14. More protection and add-on parts are among the accessories.

Replacing an electric scooter mudguard – fitting and help

Most people can do the swap themselves with Allen keys or a screwdriver. Switch the vehicle off, photograph how the old guard sits and undo the screws. If the tail light cable runs through the guard, unplug the connector carefully and route the cable the same way in the new one. Tighten the screws moderately – plastic cracks when overtightened. If you are unsure, a bike or scooter workshop can do the job. If you cannot find the right part, customer service will help, and if it concerns a fault on a vehicle bought from us, read more on the warranty page.

Frequently asked questions

Which electric scooter mudguard fits my model?

The one with your model name in the product title. Mudguards are model-specific and even generations differ – the Xiaomi 4 Lite and 4 Lite (2nd Gen) use different guards. When a part fits several models, all of them are listed in the title.

What is the difference between a rear mudguard and a mudguard kit?

The single guard is just the guard itself. A kit contains more parts – which ones is shown on the product page for your model. Choose the kit if several parts are damaged or missing, and the single guard if the rest is intact.

My electric scooter mudguard rattles – do I need a new one?

Not always. First check that the screws are tight and that the guard is not cracked at the mount. If the guard is intact but wobbles, a rear mudguard support or a new bracket may be enough. If the plastic is cracked around the screw holes, the guard needs replacing.

Can I replace the electric scooter mudguard myself?

Yes, in most cases. The guard is held by a few screws. What needs care is the tail light cable, which on many models runs through the rear guard – unplug the connector gently and route the cable the same way in the new guard.

How do delivery and returns work for mudguards?

Free shipping on orders over €69.90 – otherwise €6.95. You have 14-day returns and a 2-year warranty, in addition to your statutory rights.
