Electric scooter batteries

Buying guide

Electric scooter battery, BMS and charging parts

This is where you find the parts that keep your scooter powered: complete batteries, BMS circuit boards, battery covers and sealing rings, charging ports, rubber port covers, charging cables and chargers. The parts are model-specific and available for Xiaomi, Ninebot, KuKirin, INOKIM, InMotion and VSETT/ZERO, among others. Always start from the model name in the product title – a battery or charging port made for one model rarely fits another.

In short

  • The range: batteries, BMS circuit boards, battery covers, sealing rings, charging ports, rubber covers, charging cables and chargers.
  • Brands: Xiaomi, Ninebot, KuKirin, INOKIM, InMotion, VSETT/ZERO, NIU, iScooter and HX.
  • Choose correctly: the model is stated in the product title – compare it with your vehicle and with the connectors on the old part before you order.
  • Battery care: charge at room temperature with the charger made for your model, and store the battery about half charged over winter.
  • Terms: free shipping on orders over €69.90 (otherwise €6.95), 14-day returns and a 2-year warranty in addition to your statutory rights.

Guide: the right electric scooter battery and charging parts

When the range shrinks or charging starts to fail, the whole vehicle is rarely worn out – usually it is one single part. This guide walks through the part categories in the collection, how to find the right part for your model and how to look after the battery so it lasts. Parts for the rest of the vehicle are in the spare parts portal. Our practical tips to get more range from every charge work whatever model you ride.

Electric scooter battery – which models are covered?

A complete battery is always built for a specific model: shape, connectors and electronics differ between brands and generations. The range includes an LG battery of 7,800 mAh for Xiaomi and an original battery for the Ninebot G30, among others. The model and, where the manufacturer states it, the capacity are given in the product title. If you cannot find a battery for your model, ask customer service before ordering something that may not fit.

BMS circuit board – the electronics that manage the battery

BMS stands for battery management system. The board sits inside the battery pack and monitors the cells during charging and discharging. BMS boards are available as spare parts for Xiaomi – including the Xiaomi 4 Pro and Xiaomi 4 Lite (2nd Gen) – and for the InMotion V8S and InMotion V10/V10F electric unicycles. Replacing one means working inside the battery pack and calls for electronics experience; if in doubt, leave it to a repair shop.

Battery cover, sealing ring and battery guard

The battery cover and the sealing ring help keep moisture and dirt away from the battery, and both take a beating from stone chips and kerbs. Battery covers are available for Xiaomi and Xiaomi 4 Pro, Ninebot G30, G2 and Max G3, KuKirin G2 Master and G3 Pro, and HX X7. Sealing rings are available for Xiaomi, Ninebot G30 and INOKIM OX/OXO, and there is a battery tray for the INOKIM OXO. To reinforce the underside there are stainless steel battery guards, including one for the Ninebot G2. More protective products are found under electric scooter protection.

Charging port, rubber cover and charging cable

A loose charging port or a lost rubber cover is a common cause of charging problems. Charging ports and charging port cables are available for several Xiaomi models, Ninebot ES, F20–F40, G30, G2, Max G3 and ZT3/ZT3 Pro, KuKirin G2 Pro, G2 Max and G3 Pro, INOKIM OX/OXO, iScooter iX3/iX7, VSETT/ZERO and InMotion V8. Rubber covers for the charging port are available for largely the same series. You will also find a charging cable for Ninebot and a DC cable for the Xiaomi charger. Compare the connector and cable length with the old part before fitting.

Chargers – right model, right voltage

The collection includes chargers for Xiaomi, Ninebot, KuKirin, VSETT/ZERO, NIU, INOKIM and InMotion, and the built-in charger is available as a spare part for the Ninebot G2, Max G3 and P65/P100. The fact that the VSETT/ZERO charger is sold in both 52 V and 60 V shows why the voltage has to match – only use a charger intended for your model. The full range, with its own guide, is under chargers. How much electricity a charge uses, and what it costs, is shown in our article on the cost of charging an electric scooter.

How to make your scooter battery last longer

  • Charge outside your home if you can, in a dry storeroom or garage that stays at around +10 °C or warmer – otherwise indoors. Let a cold battery warm up before you connect the charger. Our guide on how to charge your scooter the right way covers more habits that help the battery last.
  • Avoid running the battery completely flat, and never leave it discharged.
  • Store the vehicle dry and frost-free over winter with the battery at about 60%, check the charge level every month and top it up if it has dropped – follow the manual if it gives a different level.
  • Charge under supervision, on a surface that cannot burn, and unplug the charger when the battery is full.
  • Never charge a battery that is damaged, swollen or has been soaked – contact customer service instead.

Replacing an electric scooter battery – fitting and help

Battery covers, rubber covers and sealing rings can be changed with ordinary hand tools. The battery, BMS board and charging port call for more experience: switch the vehicle off, disconnect the battery before working on the electronics and take care not to damage cells or cables. If in doubt, let a bicycle or scooter repair shop do the job. Hand in worn-out batteries at a battery collection point or recycling centre – never put them in household waste. Frequently asked questions

Which electric scooter battery fits my model?

The one with your model in the product title. Batteries are built for a specific model, with their own shape, connectors and electronics, so a battery for another model will normally not fit. The model name is in the manual and on the vehicle’s rating plate. If you are unsure, customer service will help before you order.

Can I replace an electric scooter battery myself?

Yes, if you are used to working with electronics. Switch the vehicle off, disconnect the old battery and take care not to damage cells or cables. If you feel unsure, it is better to let a bicycle or scooter repair shop do the replacement.

How long does an electric scooter battery last?

It depends on how much you ride and how the battery is looked after. All batteries lose capacity over time and with the number of charges. You extend the lifespan by charging at room temperature, avoiding deep discharges and storing the vehicle frost-free and about half charged when it is not in use.

How should I store the scooter battery over winter?

Dry, frost-free and about half charged. Do not leave the battery completely flat for months – top it up once or twice during the winter. Always charge at room temperature and wait until a cold battery has warmed up before connecting the charger.

Why is my electric scooter not charging?

Start with the simplest things: check that the charger has power and that the plug sits firmly in the charging port. Then look for damage to the charging cable, dirt or play in the charging port and a broken rubber cover. Chargers, charging ports and rubber covers are available as spare parts for many models. If the fault remains it may be in the battery or its BMS board – contact customer service.
