Electric scooter protection

Buying guide

Electric scooter protection – choose the right cover or guard

Display covers, charge port caps and storage covers do different jobs. Explore protection for exposed scooter components, alongside selected e-bike battery sleeves, saddle covers and splash guards. Start with your exact model and the part you need to cover.

In short

  • Choose electric scooter protection by model, version and mounting point.
  • A display cover fits over the screen; a replacement dashboard panel is different.
  • Distinguish an additional underside guard from a soft battery sleeve.
  • Use storage covers on parked vehicles as instructed.
  • A cover does not make the vehicle waterproof or increase its IP rating.

Buying guide: covers and guards for electric scooters and e-bikes

Electric scooter protection: check the exact fit

Check the model name, generation and variant before ordering. Compare the shape, openings, dimensions and fixing points with the component on your vehicle. A similar appearance or shared brand is not enough. Check the contents too: a separate bracket may still require a cover.

Display and control covers for electric scooters

A silicone display cover fits over the existing dashboard. It does not replace a damaged screen, panel or electronics. Choose one that keeps information readable and buttons usable. Brake lever and thumb throttle covers must not restrict movement or return. Check the controls while stationary after fitting.

Charge port caps, cable grommets and dust boots

A charge port cap covers the connector when it is not in use. Cable grommets and suspension boots fit other areas and have different dimensions. Match the actual component. Check that caps close correctly and that rubber has not split. Covers cannot repair damaged connectors. Follow the vehicle's cleaning and charging instructions; do not try to charge through a wet or damaged connection.

Battery protection: underside guard or sleeve?

An extra plate under a scooter and a soft sleeve around an e-bike battery serve different purposes. Check screw positions, battery shape, frame clearance and battery removal. Do not assume a sleeve is fireproof or permits charging in cold conditions. Follow the battery manufacturer's temperature and ventilation instructions, including whether the sleeve must be removed for charging.

Storage covers, saddle covers and splash guards

Choose a storage cover using the vehicle's overall dimensions and use it for parking or storage as instructed, not while riding. A saddle cover must fit the saddle shape; a mudguard extension must fit the existing mudguard. Check clearance around wheels and brakes. Water-resistant fabric does not make the whole vehicle waterproof.

Fit and inspect the protection

Clean the contact surface as instructed and keep cables, lights, reflectors, brakes and folding mechanisms clear. Check underneath for moisture, dirt and loose fittings. Replace damaged protection instead of relying on it. For replacement panels and repair components, visit our spare parts portal. Browse other accessories too.

Frequently asked questions

Which electric scooter protection should I choose?

Choose for the component you want to cover and your exact model: for example the display, charging port, underside or the whole parked vehicle. Check fit and fitting instructions before buying.

Is a display cover the same as a dashboard panel?

No. A display cover usually fits over the existing dashboard. A dashboard panel is a replacement component. Check the product's function and package contents.

Are charge port covers universal?

No. Shape, dimensions and fixing points vary. Choose a cap explicitly listed for your vehicle's model and version.

Does electric scooter protection make the scooter waterproof?

No. Covers do not change the vehicle's IP rating or the manufacturer's conditions of use. Remove a parked-vehicle rain cover before riding.

Can I leave a battery sleeve on while charging?

Follow the battery, charger and sleeve instructions. An insulating sleeve does not change the permitted charging temperature and should not be assumed to be fireproof.
