ENGWE
ENGWE Y600S and Y700 share 10-inch wheels, two disc brakes and the same stated speed, but differ in weight, stated range, tyre tread, charging time and the higher listed output level.
ENGWE Y600S or Y700: compare the 7.7 kg trade-off
The 7.7 kg difference matters
ENGWE Y600S is listed at 24.0 kg and ENGWE Y700 at 31.7 kg. Both fold, but Y700 is materially harder to carry or load. Weigh its extra 15 km of stated range and higher listed output level against stairs, storage and transport rather than treating it as an automatic upgrade.
Shared battery and load, different charging windows
Both models are listed with 48 V 18.2 Ah and a recommended maximum load of 120 kg. Y600S is listed at 8–10 hours of charging and Y700 at 9–10 hours. The product specifications do not state one cause for the different 70 and 85 km manufacturer figures, so compare weight, tyres, charging and intended use.
Tyres, brakes and connected features
Both are listed with front and rear suspension, 10-inch pneumatic tyres and two disc brakes. Y600S is described with an off-road tread, while Y700 is simply listed with pneumatic tyres. Y700’s current product page describes Bluetooth smartphone unlocking; the Y600S page does not list that feature. Treat Bluetooth unlocking as a Y700 feature and check the selected product page before buying.
Range remains a manufacturer figure
The stated 70 and 85 km are not guarantees. Load, temperature, speed, wind, hills, surface and tyre pressure affect the result. Confirm which output is listed first and which is the higher level on the exact page; an unspecified motor figure must not be read as continuous rated output. Use Y600S or Y700, not only ENGWE, in the spare-parts portal.
Folding does not remove the handling difference
At 24.0 kg, Y600S is still not a light carry vehicle; at 31.7 kg, Y700 needs even more deliberate storage and loading. Measure stairs, the storage footprint and the car opening. If regular carrying is central, a lighter format may be more useful than the extra 15 km in Y700’s manufacturer figure.
Maximum load is 120 kg for both, but it does not preserve the headline range at that load. Keep the 500 W first-listed value separate from the higher 830 W and 1,200 W figures, follow the exact charging advice and match tyres, brake parts and charger to Y600S or Y700. The separate ENGWE e-bike range is outside this collection.
